John Zender widely known for his public work. His murals have been seen in many motion pictures, ads and comercials (visit:creativeartsolutions.com), but his passion for art comes from his easle paintings.
Zender’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zero-1 Gallery, La Luz Gallery, Homegirl Cafe, Crewest Gallery and many others. His easel paintings have evolved from series to series. Most of the works from his earlier series now reside in private collections. In 1995 his work arrived at a spiritual turning point and began incorporating more intimate and personal ideas concerning spirituality into his artwork.
Influenced by Kandinsky, Matta, De Szyszlo and Basquiat he has worked in three major periods, Urban Street Art, Chicano Art, and Spiritual Abstractions. He has fused all three in what he calls " Urban Chicano".
